For this photography project, I chose to document my weekly shopping process. I personally love Chinese cooking, so I have been relying a lot on an Asian supermarket called Super 88 for the past few years for groceries. Because this particular supermarket reminds me of old Hong Kong, I wanted my photos to also fit the theme of Hong Kong in the 1980s. The story behind this supermarket originates from the first group of Cantonese immigrants who came to Boston. Boston was one of the first places that a lot of Hong Kong people immigrated to in the 1980s, so a lot of these Chinese markets we see have workers who experienced Hong Kong back then.
